These images Rebirth and New Life are symbolic representations of spiritual truths in the Christian life. Rebirth symbolizing being reborn in the Christian Faith when one puts their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior for the forgiveness of sins. One looks to the heavens as spiritual transformation happens within, the old passing away and a new creation being made alive by the Holy Spirit. New Life is a continuation of the same story and theme. As this new creation in Christ, believers are given spiritual gifts and a new purpose in life; To know God and to make God known. Symbolized as the Cicada’s wings unfurl, new gift in this new body and a new purpose. In both images the old husk is seen, split open by the power of the rebirth and left in the past - no longer defining the life of the believer.
